The Grampian Empowered Multicultural Staff (GEMS) Group invites colleagues to join us for a special session to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination 2023, which is a day recognised every year on the 21st of March.

We will hear about some of the key actions NHS Grampian has identified to improve the experience of our diverse workforce and welcome Head of People and Change, Philip Shipman to speak with us about current work to scrutinise workforce data and how we can work together to overcome challenges that have been identified.

In order to mark this important date in the Equalities Calendar, the Staff Equalities Network wanted to understand colleagues' experiences of race whilst working in health and care services.
We ran two special small group sessions on MS Teams. We invited colleagues to share their experiences with us in a safe and supportive space as the staff equalities network wanted to hear from a diverse range of colleagues who were happy to discuss their experience.
The information shared in these sessions was used by the network to improve the experience for our staff
