Glen O' Dee Hospital

Glen O' Dee is situated 18 miles from Aberdeen and is located in the west end of Banchory. Glen O' Dee Hospital provides services for the population of Deeside supported by the General Practitioners from the local GP practices at Banchory.

The original building was built in 1900 and became a sanatorium for patients with tuberculosis.  This building closed in 1998 and a new purpose built building was erected on the same site.

Parking

There is a small amount of on-site car parking outside the main entrance to the hospital, although at peak times there is pressure on these.

Patient Transport

Approaching Banchory town from Aberdeen, travel along the High Street passing the Police Station.  A few hundred yards further along the road turn up Corsee Road.  Continue up the hill along Corsee Road, and continue along this road through the Corsee Woods.  The Hospital is located at the top of the hill.

Morven Ward provides medical care, assessment, rehabilitation and palliative/terminal care. Two of the single rooms have conservatories built with donations from 'Friends of Glen O' Dee'. All the wards have en-suite facilities.

The ward has a homely feel, with a large day room and a smaller sitting room.

Scolty Ward is a ward for psychiatric care of the elderly and focuses on dementia assessment. Two of the single rooms have conservatories built with donations from 'Friends of Glen O' Dee'. All the wards have en-suite facilities.

Patients have the use of a large day room and another 'quiet' sitting room which leads out to the garden area.
