NHS Grampian is proud to have achieved the 'Engaged' level of the Carers Positive Award. The Carers Leave Act came into force in April 2024 and means employees are now entitled to one week's unpaid leave per year, if providing or arranging care for someone with a long-term care need.
NHS staff can access the NHS Scotland Special Leave Policy which covers carers leave, and in addition, provides eligible staff with up to one weeks paid leave.
