What is the Garima project

The Garima (Grampian’s Assessment of Radiation-free Imaging, a Mammography Alternative) project is an innovative evaluation of thermal imaging technology. The team at Grampian's Breast Screening Centre will be evaluating the efficacy of this Technology. This project is due to commence in Spring of 2024 with- around 500 women expected to take part in the study. NHS Grampian will be inviting women already booked to attend clinics to take part once the project commences.

Who is working on the Garima project

NHS Grampian is hosting the technology. The technology called Thermalytix has been developed by Niramai. Thermalytix is a computer aided diagnostic test engine powered by AI and uses a high resolution thermal sensing device.
