Sustainability Champions are volunteers across all areas of the organisation that work to embed sustainability in their area of work. Those who undertake this role are a vital part of our organisation, as they act to highlight areas where we can improve our sustainability and deliver sustainability actions and projects. Some of the latest projects include:

• Increasing the use of re-usable cups in our coffee outlets.
• Promoting more awareness on recyclable items at ward level.
• Encouraging community pharmacies to take part in take-back schemes for diabetic pens and medicinal blister packs.
• Moving paperwork on to digital formats to reduce the need for printing.

Whilst sustainability is ultimately the role of everyone in the organisation, our enthusiastic, motivated volunteers are essential in promoting behavioural change and empowering our staff to act more sustainably.
