Our Targets

NHS Grampian is committed to promoting health and wellbeing while also supporting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Some key goals include:

  • Becoming a net-zero health service by 2040, or sooner if possible.
  • Making sure our facilities and services are climate-resilient, especially when it comes to extreme weather.
  • Building a culture of stewardship, where we use natural resources responsibly to provide sustainable healthcare.
  • Embracing the circular economy, focusing on reducing waste, reusing materials, and minimising pollution.
  • Contributing to tackling the ecological emergency and helping restore biodiversity.

These efforts are part of a larger mission to ensure NHS Grampian leads the way in creating a healthier planet.
