Keeping Active
Keeping active when you are working remotely or at home is important, not only for our physical health, but our mental health too.
When working in front of a screen all day, exercise is a great way to clear the mind, and to help you physically.
You may want to try:
- Virtual exercises – from our own NHSG OHS team. The internet site for MSK Physiotherapy is www.mskphysiogrampian.scot.nhs.uk
- A quick walk at lunchtime can break up your day, and give you a boost
- Walking, jogging and cycling in your own time
Some of us will be spending more time at home working remotely. We may find that we are not being as active as we were. It’s important to keeping moving regularly:
- Try to break up your day, breaking up the time you are sitting down by moving every 30 minutes, even by standing up and walking around the house
- NHS Inform has a selection of Strength and Balance exercises
- Unless you have COVID-19 symptoms or are isolating, you can get out of the house for a walk, you could break your day with a brisk 30 minute walk at lunchtime, getting you exercise, boosting your mood and also getting your daily dose of vitamin D from the sun’s rays
- Walking, jogging or cycling are great ways to exercise
