Infection Control
In the days before your admission, please let the ward team know if you have a respiratory (coughing, sneezing, fever) infection or vomiting and or diarrhoea.
You can help reduce the risk of surgical infection by:
Keeping the surgery site free from cuts, do not remove hair (shave) unless the ward team ask you to. Keeping your skin clean by showering (or bathed/washed if unable to shower) on day of or day before surgery using soap (your preferred soap is ok. If a special soap is needed the ward team will advise).
NHS Grampian staff follow guidance provided in the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual to provide safe and clean care for patients.
