Practical preparation
Before your planned surgery it is a good idea to prepare ahead of time. Please try and limit to hand luggage size only and do not bring valuables or larger amounts of money.
Below is a checklist of items that we advise you to bring:
- Your admission letters.
- If possible, bring an up-to-date list of all your medicines and how you take them, including an up-to-date list of all your medicines and how you take them.
- Mobile phone and charger (headphones can be helpful).
- Toiletries – DO NOT bring aerosol type deodorants as these set off our fire alarm system which leads to attendance by the Fire Service.
- Nightdress, pyjamas, dressing gown and slippers.
- Comfortable day clothes for wearing after your operation and supportive shoes.
- Your glasses if you need them and their case.
- Something to read or other items to help occupy yourself during your stay.
- If you have dentures (false teeth) please bring a container with your name on it to store them in.
- Hearing aid, the case and spare batteries.
- Details of any hospital or clinic appointments happening during your stay.
- A small amount of money as there a couple of retail outlets on site.
