Dr Gray’s Hospital in Moray is excited to announce the commencement of a major kitchen floor replacement project. This significant investment, valued at £335,000, underscores NHS Grampian’s commitment to providing top-notch nutritional care for our patients, staff, and visitors.

“Our hospital canteen serves tens of thousands of people every year,” said Alasdair Pattinson, Hospital General Manager. “This kitchen floor replacement is a critical investment in our infrastructure and our ability to continue delivering high quality catering to patients, visitors and staff.”

To ensure the high standards of our catering service are maintained during the upgrade, patient meals are being prepared at Seafield Hospital and transported to Dr Gray’s daily. Alasdair added: “Although the menu rotation will be temporarily reduced, all menus have been carefully reviewed to ensure they still offer choice and a balanced diet for all.”

Works got underway in May and are expected to be complete by the end of the year. Alasdair acknowledged potential temporary inconveniences, including reduced parking for staff: “We understand this may add to the already challenging parking situation at our hospital and ask for your patience and understanding.”

He continued, “We appreciate the continued support and patience of our staff, patients, and visitors as we undertake these necessary upgrades. Please bear with us while these improvement works continue, and rest assured we are committed to minimising disruption where possible.”

“This project will significantly enhance our kitchen facilities,” Alasdair added, “ensuring we can continue to provide excellent standards for many years to come.”

Dr Gray’s Hospital is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care, and this project is a testament to our ongoing efforts to invest in the health and wellbeing of our community.
