New Moray Vaccination Centre
Published: 23/05/2024 12:25Vaccinations in Moray are on the move! The Fiona Elcock Vaccination Centre (FEVC) will close for the last time on Friday 31 May. The new Moray Vaccination Centre will open at 9c Southfield Drive, Elgin, IV30 6GR on Monday 10 June.
To support the move, appointments are not available between 31 May and 10 June. Outreach clinics, taking place in Forres on Saturday 1 June and Buckie on Saturday 8 June, will go ahead as normal. Any appointments booked for that period at FEVC have been rescheduled and people informed of the new date directly.
Margaret Wickham, vaccination team lead in Moray, said: “The centre has been an excellent base for us since January 2021. However, as we have moved away from mass vaccination programmes, and into more targeted schemes, the time has come to move. The move means the time is also right to change the name of the centre to simply the Moray Vaccination Centre.
"Although the centre will no longer carry the name of our colleague Fiona, an immunisation nurse who died suddenly in 2020, she continues to be remembered as a wonderful nurse and friend.
Liz Morton also works as a team lead and added: “We are working hard to make the move as smooth as possible. If anyone has any queries about their vaccination, or is concerned their appointment hasn’t been rescheduled, I’d ask them to ring 01224 555 333 or pop into the centre.”
The Moray Vaccination Centre is located off Thornhill Drive, New Elgin. There is free parking, including disabled parking spaces, at the door. The nearest bus stop is on Thornhill Road and the centre is served by service 33A.
