Four is the magic number for NHS Grampian, as four women working in roles across the health board have made the final of Scotland’s Health Awards.

This event celebrates all that’s great across the NHS in Scotland. The four women in contention are:

  • Katy Styles in the Leader category. Katy is the Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professions lead for the realistic medicine programme. Realistic medicine aims to empower every person being cared for to discuss their treatment fully, including different courses of treatment and potential drawbacks.
  • Jacqueline Keddie in the Midwife category. Jacqueline is the Midwifery Lead for Moray and a key member of the team implementing the Moray Maternity service plan.

  • Anne-Marie Jackson in the Nurse category. Anne-Marie is an advanced nurse practitioner, specialising in medicine for the elderly and working in Aberdeen.

  • Also in the Nurse category, Susann Flannery. Susan is the Project Manager for the health board’s migraine project. This is in partnership with The Migraine Trust and seeks to improve awareness and understanding of migraine.

In addition, four dedicated four-legged volunteers – Bronte, Bentley, Barley, and Brooke – along with their owners Colin and Jacqui Finnie are finalists in the Volunteer category. The much-loved therapets are regular visitors to ARI, raising the spirits of patients and staff alike.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh on Thursday 7 November.
