Health and social care partnerships across Scotland were launched in 2016, which brought health and social care in to a single, integrated system. Health and social care services were previously managed separately by NHS Boards and local authoritites.
The aim of integration is to improve care and support for people who use services, their carers and their families.
In Grampian there are three Integrated Joint Boards - Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray - with each having responsibility for health and social care services and budgets in their respective areas.
