Report of the independent review into maternity services for the women and families of Moray - December 2021

The independent review into the maternity services available to the women and families of Moray is now complete. A report containing the review findings and recommendations has been submitted to the Scottish Government and been published on their website, please see the link below. We are now awaiting feedback from the Scottish Government on the recommendations made within the report, which we expected will be shared in January 2022.

Since the independent review was first announced in March 2021, NHS Grampian has fully supported and engaged with the review. As part of the review process, the review team met with and listened to members of the community, and staff members from a range of maternity and nursing teams from both Dr Gray’s Hospital and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

NHS Grampian welcomes the review findings, and is fully committed to working closely with the population in Moray, NHS Highland and the Scottish Government to find ways in which the recommendations contained within the review can be quickly, fully and successfully implemented.
