Has your NMC Registration lapsed? Do you wish to return to Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities Nursing, Children’s Nursing or Midwifery after a career break? Do you need to build your confidence and experience before re-registering with the NMC?
NHS Grampian and Robert Gordon University are working jointly to welcome Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities Nursing, Children’s Nursing or Midwifery Nurses and Midwives whose registration has lapsed to return to practice by providing a short, fully funded course, to prepare for re-joining the NMC register and enable nurses and midwives to return to their field of practice in a safe and confident manner.
For Adult, Mental Health, Learing Disabilities Nursing and Children’s Nurses this is a unique opportunity where individuals can undertake this course which will be delivered by 6 mandatory face-to-face study days, that will be utilised to prepare for university life and the academic skills needed plus, a reminder of some clinical skills required to practice safely. Theory is mostly provided in an online format and staff are fully supported to access materials. Clinical placement will also be arranged in a relevant area of the field of practice.
The course can be completed via a full or part-time route and hours are negotiated depending on length of lapse of registration. It is ususal to have to complete 450 hours whilst on a clincial placement and 7 weeks of theory.
