Speak to your pharmacist

Everyone can get free advice about their medicines, and how to get the best from them, from their local pharmacist. Pharmacists can also help you manage your health better. Many pharmacies are open when your GP surgery is shut (evenings, weekends and on public holidays). You don't need to make an appointment to speak to a pharmacist.

Speak to Your Local Pharmacist if you have Asthma or COPD and want:

  • To check if you are using your inhaler(s) or peak flow meter properly.
  • To know more about all your medicines e.g. when and how often to
take, dose, side-effects or interactions with other medicines.
  • Help to stop smoking.

Find your nearest pharmacy on the NHS Inform website or call them on 0800 22 44 88 if you’re well, but have a question about your health or local NHS services. The helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
