Emotional Impact

The experience of having COVID-19 can be very frightening and affects people in different ways. It is understandable that suffering from ongoing symptoms months after contracting the virus can have an impact on your mental health which can in turn make your physical symptoms harder to manage.

If a child / young person has been feeling low for more than 2 weeks or are concerned about their symptoms, please speak to your GP.

Phone 111 if a child / young person is feeling distressed, in a state of despair, thoughts of self-harm, suicidal or in need of emotional support.

If a child / young person is experiencing a new onset of symptoms or confusion speak to your GP.
